Di Matteo faces tough task to keep Arsenal target at Schalke

first_img Julian Draxler 1 Roberto Di Matteo’s big job as Schalke boss will be keeping Julian Draxler out of Arsenal’s hands, according to reports in Germany.The German midfielder has been on Arsene Wenger’s radar for two seasons now and his reputation is constantly growing around Europe.Ex-Chelsea boss Di Matteo was appointed in October replacing Jens Keller who had an uneasy relationship with Draxler and was often publicly critical of their star player.The 21-year-old has played five Bundesliga matches already this season and scored one goal – his stats have not been helped by the red card and subsequent two-match suspension he picked up in the 2-2 draw with Frankfurt in September, in which he scored his side’s second.last_img
